Phillip E. Bollin, Certified Financial Planner ™
Founder and President
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Phil graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School where he was recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar. Phil began his career as an electrical engineer after attending the University of Detroit on an academic scholarship. While working for several of the leading management consulting firms in the Detroit area, Phil received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan, where he concentrated in Finance and Corporate Strategy studies.
Upon graduation Phil returned to Northwest Ohio to embark on a new career path providing strategic consulting services to many of the prominent national and private banks both domestically and in Europe. During his two years of providing consulting to the financial and investment services industry, Phil observed several problems with the industry including: an unlevel playing field for investors, generic investment offerings, and biased advice that favored high commission investment products.
Determined to provide clients with a better experience, Phil created Bollin Wealth Management. Armed with his engineering discipline and methodology, Phil designed the financial planning and investment advisory offerings of Bollin Wealth Management to robustly consider all factors in determining a client's best course of action, with an emphasis on minimizing and/or eliminating financial risks, reducing investment costs, and providing the most consistent investment returns over an investors' lifetime.
Further improving upon the firms' services, in 2008 Phil obtained the pinnacle designation in the industry: the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. Phil has been published in several publications, including the Toledo Blade, Toledo Business Journal, Wall Street Journal, and The Suit Magazine. He routinely addresses groups in the NW Ohio and SE Michigan areas including small companies and social organizations. Bollin Wealth Management has also been recognized as one of the outstanding investment advisory firms in Northwest Ohio by the Toledo Business Journal.
Phil resides in Perrysburg, Ohio with his wife and two daughters. As a community steward Phil has served on the advisory boards of several local colleges and universities, volunteered on the leadership board of several local charities, served as President of both the Finance and School Advisory Councils for St. Rose Parish, and served in leadership positions with the Technical Society of Toledo and the Financial Planning Association. He also coaches youth athletics including softball, basketball and volleyball.
